Christian Counseling in Roanoke, TX
Are you struggling finding peace, direction or hope?
Do you feel burdened by worry, even as you long to trust God more fully?
Are you wrestling with stress and uncertainty that make it hard to feel God’s peace?
Do past hurts or broken relationships leave you questioning God’s plan?
Are you stuck in patterns of thinking that keep you from living in the freedom Christ offers?
When life feels overwhelming, even strong faith can feel shaky. Many believers long to trust God more deeply, but find themselves weighed down by real struggles that make it hard to experience His peace and hope. You are not alone in feeling this way. Countless Christians wrestle with the gap between what they know to be true in Scripture and what they feel in their daily lives.
Past experiences can also play a significant role. Old wounds, traumatic experiences, family conflicts or seasons of disappointment can leave deep marks that make it difficult to fully trust God’s goodness. Stress from daily responsibilities—work, parenting, relationships or finances—can pile on until hope feels distant. Many believers describe feeling spiritually dry, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in cycles of discouragement they can’t seem to break.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. These struggles are far more common among the people of God than most realize, and acknowledging them is often the first step toward healing.
Why Faith Can Feel Hard at Times
It can be discouraging to read promises of God’s peace, joy or strength in the Bible while still battling anxiety, sadness or confusion in your heart. Some people feel guilty for not being able to “just have more faith” or for continuing to struggle even after praying for relief. Others find themselves questioning God’s timing, wondering why healing or change hasn’t come as quickly as they expected.
You’re Not Alone
If you find yourself feeling discouraged or even distant from God, it’s important to know that you are not the only one walking this path. Many believers experience seasons where faith feels harder to hold onto, and emotional pain seems louder than God’s promises. In fact, throughout Scripture we see godly men and women—David, Job, Elijah, even the disciples—who wrestled with fear, doubt, grief and uncertainty. Their stories remind us that struggling does not make you less faithful; it makes you human.
The truth is, challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief or strained relationships are far more common than many Christians realize. Life in a broken world naturally brings stress and heartache, and these struggles often show up in ways that impact both our emotional and spiritual well-being. Some describe feeling weighed down by guilt or shame, believing they should be “stronger” in their faith. Others quietly wrestle with persistent worry, intrusive thoughts or emotional wounds that prayer alone hasn’t seemed to heal.
Finding Healing and Hope Through Christian Counseling
Faith can be a powerful source of hope, healing, and direction—especially in life’s most difficult seasons. As a counselor who values a personal relationship with Christ, I offer Christian counseling for those who desire to integrate their faith into the counseling process. Whether you're seeking spiritual guidance, emotional support, or clarity through a biblical lens, I provide a space where your beliefs are honored and woven into the journey. Together, we’ll explore your challenges while leaning on the truth of Scripture and God’s grace. You don’t have to walk through this alone—healing is possible, and I’d be honored to walk beside you in both faith and compassion.
What to Expect In Session
In counseling, we begin by creating a safe, compassionate space where you can share openly about what you’re experiencing. I take time to listen to your story, your background and your faith journey. For many clients, simply being able to talk honestly about struggles without fear of judgment is a vital first step toward healing.
My approach blends practical counseling techniques with a Christian perspective, meeting you where you are in both your emotional and spiritual journey. Together, we explore thought patterns or behaviors that may be holding you back, find ways to manage stress and gently work through past hurts or difficult experiences. Faith is welcomed into every session—we may reflect on Scripture for encouragement, pray together or explore biblical truths that bring hope and clarity when fear, doubt or discouragement arise.
This approach is rooted in my clinical training, which intentionally integrated Christian faith in the counseling session. I earned my Master’s degree at Southwestern Seminary, where I received in-depth training in faith-based counseling and Biblical approaches to emotional and spiritual growth. This background equips me to help clients navigate life’s challenges in ways that honor both mental health and their relationship with God. By combining evidence-based strategies with Scripture, prayer and faith-centered guidance, each session addresses emotional and spiritual needs, supporting holistic growth and healing.
Sessions are collaborative and tailored to you. We’ll work together to identify practical tools for managing emotions and stress while strengthening your ability to lean on God’s promises in daily life. Over time, many clients begin to feel lighter, more resilient and more at peace in their relationship with Christ. With support, healing is possible, and you don’t have to walk this journey alone.
